Sri R Krishna Murthy was born in orthodox family of Mrs Parvathi and Shri Rama Iyer in Palai, Kerala.on 13th November 2011 on Karthik Purnima Day (Tamil Month Aippasi, Bharani Nakshatram, Pournami Thithi) Shri Rama Iyer was very spiritual and religious and ardent worshipper of Lord Shiva in the nativevillage ofMunneerpallam near Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. Shri Murthy spent his childhood in the company of Bhajan Mandalis and religious groups. He moved on toDelhi in the year 1950 at the request of his elder brother R. Sankaran who had joined Times of India ,Delhi in 1948. Shri Murthy joined Volkart Bros in 1951, which was later merged with Tatas and renamed asVoltas where he continued his service until his retirement in 1992. The brothers with special inclination towards Bhajan and religious spiritualism under the guidance of their mother Parthy Ammal formed Shri Krishna Bhajana Samaj in the year 1952 with friends like PV subramaniam( Subbudu), R Krishnan, Narasimhan and others which was later on registed as Delhi Bhajana Samaj under the Presidentship of Dr KS Krishnan( Famous Scientist and founder of National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi) in the year 1956. He was associated with all bhajan groups in Tiruppugazh, Hari Bhajan, etc. He was also the founder member of Thyaga Bhrahma Sabha which organised Karnatic Music concerts in the capital city during 1950s and 1960s. He was also in bringing up and construction of Uttara Swami Malai in RK Puram,New Delhi. Till his last breath he was associated with construction ofTemples in and aroundDelhi in addition to his Bhajana Activities.
